Technical Consultant – ServiceNow

Position Summary

RSM is seeking a ServiceNow Technical Consultant to design, configure, and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions aligned with platform best practices. This role partners closely with clients, business stakeholders, and technical teams to deliver configuration‑first solutions across ITSM, ITAM, SPM, and TPRM, supporting enterprise and regulated environments.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands‑on ServiceNow development experience, proven client‑facing consulting skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into effective platform configurations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical and functional workshops to gather business requirements and translate them into ServiceNow solutions
  • Design and deliver end‑to‑end ServiceNow solutions aligned with out‑of‑the‑box capabilities and platform best practices
  • Configure workflows, UI policies, business rules, client scripts, and form layouts
  • Perform hands‑on development using JavaScript, including Script Includes and scoped applications
  • Build and support integrations using REST/SOAP APIs and IntegrationHub
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions
  • Advise clients on platform capabilities, optimization opportunities, and roadmap decisions
  • Develop technical documentation, solution designs, and user stories
  • Support unit testing and UAT cycles
  • Troubleshoot complex platform issues and serve as an escalation point
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands‑on ServiceNow development and configuration experience
  • Strong experience with ITSM (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
  • Experience with one or more of the following:
    • ITAM (HAM and/or SAM)
    • SPM
    • TPRM
  • Proficiency in JavaScript within the ServiceNow platform
  • Experience with REST/SOAP integrations and IntegrationHub
  • Strong understanding of the ServiceNow data model, ACLs, and platform architecture
  • Proven client‑facing communication and requirements‑gathering skills
  • Ability to work independently in a consulting or delivery‑focused environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow certifications (CSA, CIS – ITSM, ITAM, SPM, or TPRM)
  • Experience with Service Portal or Employee Center
  • Knowledge of CMDB and CSDM best practices
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models
  • Prior consulting or systems integrator experience
  • Exposure to Performance Analytics or reporting
  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise‑scale environments

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $38 - $56 per hour
