The Technical Consultant partners with clients to design, configure, and support technically focused solutions within Netsmart’s EHR platforms and integrated third‑party systems. This role plays a key part in reporting, data migrations, and system integrations, helping ensure data is accurate, accessible, and reliable throughout implementation and ongoing client use. This position is onsite at our Overland Park location.

This role plays a key part in reporting, data migrations, and system integrations, helping ensure data is accurate, accessible, and reliable throughout implementation and ongoing client use. This position is onsite at our Overland Park location.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Implement technically focused solutions for multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) software solutions.

  • Design, develop, and support reports, forms, interfaces, and related system components, with a strong emphasis on reporting accuracy and usability.

  • Consult with clients on technical designs related to reports, forms, interfaces, and data structures.

  • Support the rollout of new solutions by assisting with technical setup, configuration, data migration activities, data transfer testing, and data validation.

  • Participate in data migration planning and execution, including data mapping, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure successful client transitions.

  • Collaborate with Engineering by providing feedback and real‑world examples to support improvements in code related to logging, monitoring, analytics, and overall system performance.

  • Lead client and third‑party vendor calls to drive data mapping and integration discussions, translating requirements clearly between systems and technical teams.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve reporting, data, and integration issues across pre‑production and production environments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems Technology, Data Analytics, or similar.

  • Equivalent 2 years of work experience in lieu of degree.

  • At least 1 year of healthcare information technology or systems management implementation or consulting experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to multitask on projects and work effectively under pressure.

  • Ability to problem solve design and programming issues.

Preferred

  • Experience working with electronic health records (EHRs).

  • Knowledge of HL7‑based interfaces.

  • Familiarity with SQL, relational databases, and querying data for reporting or troubleshooting purposes.

  • Experience supporting or executing data migrations, including data mapping, validation, and reconciliation.

  • Experience creating, maintaining, or supporting reports and analytics within healthcare systems.

  • Comfort working across technical and non‑technical stakeholders to explain data and system behavior.

  • Ability to work onsite at our Overland Park location.

Expectations

  • Potential travel up to 20% as needed.

  • Position may at times require extended or irregular hours outside of traditional business hours to support clients and projects across multiple time zones and any required travel.
