What you’ll contribute to
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled and dynamic Technical Consultant – New Model / New Technology & Accessories to join our Quality and Service division in a full-time permanent position.
The Quality and Service Division handles the planning, coordination, and implementation of customer-focused activities. This includes customer support, establishing service operations, training, field product performance and support, warranty management, quality planning, and engineering. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction, foster long-term relationships, expand the market, support profitability goals, and strengthen the Toyota brand through optimized experiences, services, and products.
The New Model Vehicle Readiness Team is primarily responsible for ensuring new model vehicles exceed the local market quality expectations. Contributing to the development and implementation of early field product reporting and evaluation strategies & activities for commercial vehicles, in order to optimise new model, launch by maximising customer satisfaction and safety.
This role is primarily based onsite at our Altona North office with some flexibility on offer. This role does require interstate and domestic travel, approximately six to ten times a year.
How you’ll make an impact
Develop and assess the evaluation systems, processes, and procedures for New Model products under the Early Detection/Early Resolution (EDER) framework, ensuring alignment with established policies to meet customer objectives for new launches.
Support projects focused on new model service performance, product performance, and the development/introduction of accessory parts to the Australian market. This includes conducting field studies, assessing new model suitability, supporting vehicle logistics department operations, and implementing port corrections to help achieve customer objectives.
Develop and implement processes and procedures for dealer product support to enhance customer satisfaction and retention.
Support accessory development, ensuring serviceability and repair instructions are confirmed and fitment quality is achieved for a smooth launch local models and accessories to dealers and owners. Manage vehicle launch evaluation activities across sales and marketing to ensure a successful market introduction. Monitor project activities against established milestones and recommend or implement countermeasures as needed to meet objectives. After the launch, collect research and customer feedback to identify opportunities and performance gaps related to product quality and service.
Maintain reporting systems to deliver accurate and timely information that supports the business in planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

Minium Automotive trade qualification, mechanical engineering background or equivalent experience in the field.
Strong experience in the automotive industry, encompassing both technical roles and customer management.
Preference for experience with Toyota products.
Proven track record in effectively communicating with stakeholders and negotiating outcomes, including reporting and presenting to senior management.
Deep understanding of the automotive industry and dealer networks.
Understanding of the business and its commercial drivers.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Excel (vlook up and pivot tables).
