Technical Change Manager (d/f/m) for Cabin Retrofit Solution Engineering

We are looking for a Technical Change Manager (d/f/m) located in Hamburg with a possible start date asap.

In this position you will be a member of the Cabin Business Performance Management Team. In our cabin retrofit department the focus lies on retrofit projects aiming on providing our customers with a modified, safe and reliable cabin in accordance with their requests. Each project is unique and can range from a small color change to a complete cabin renewal. 

As a Technical Change Manager you will make an important contribution to the success of each cabin retrofit project, by being the starting point of the execution phase for all signed Cabin and Connectivity related Technical Offers [TO], by ensuring the highest quality standards of our Modification Proposal [MP] Dossiers and by sharing your expertise with all colleagues within and beyond the Cabin department.  

You will work in a transnational organization and as a member of our Cabin Business Performance Management Team you will have interfaces to Customer Service, Engineering, Program and other departments.

The main task of a Technical Change Manager is to launch all change process relevant deliverables in line with the Customer request [CR] and the validated modification breakdown for a retrofit change, as well as to ensure the change is executed accordingly by all involved retrofit contributors.

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your main tasks and responsibilities

  • Supporting the detailed design impact analysis, setting up the configuration proposal (TO/TS/SB/MBU) and securing the validation together with Configuration Management and Technical Directorate.

  • Managing accepted customer orders consisting of tracking, coordination, data input, launching acceptance in contract database (SUPREM) and reporting to Technical Domains and Programmes.

  • Launching and updating the Service Bulletin Order in SAMM DACAS to engineering contributors, and defining the RFC/MOD configurations and MSN effectivity accordingly.

  • Performing the quality check on the defined structure of Technical Solutions [TS] and linked catalogue options (RFC & EPAC/TDU) in the contract database (SUPREM / System and Cabin Configurator).

  • Creating Modification Proposal Dossier and requesting the opening of all relevant close to known Modifications in line with the validated Modification Build-Up [MBU], based on the decision made during the Customer Request Screening.

  • Additionally ensuring that also the content of each MP Dossier is in line with the validated MOD build-up and screening decision and performing the quality check of MP dossiers as TCM in ICC ACP.

  • Following up the request for RFC-MOD coverage for known, close to known and new items in the ACC2 tool.

  • Contributing as a key process actor and actively participating to process, method & tool improvement initiatives related to configuration management together with the Configuration Management and Technical Directorate.


Desired skills and qualifications

  • Engineer Aeronautical/ Mechanical degree or equivalent

  • Aircraft configuration management

  • Previous experience with engineering and configuration manager tools e.g. ICC-CADB/ACP, ACC2, SAP/SUPREM, SAP/SAMM DACAS, in Airbus Legacy tools like Moda, Taksy.

  • Aircraft maintenance experience would be a plus
