About the Role
As the Technical Center Manager, you will lead the strategic planning and daily operations of our Technical Center, ensuring excellence in safety, compliance, and quality standards. This role combines technical expertise with strong leadership to deliver reliable lab testing and pilot line sampling services, support new product development, and drive customer-focused initiatives. You will manage budgets, maintain facilities, and oversee ISO management systems while fostering team development and knowledge transfer. Acting as a key liaison between local business units, global Tech Centers, and international R&D teams, you will ensure operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all activities.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Operations
Develop and execute the annual Technical Center work plan and achieve key performance indicators.
Plan and manage OpEx and CapEx budgets in collaboration with Finance, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Maintain equipment and facilities in optimal condition and oversee capacity planning.
Safety, Compliance & Quality
Establish and enforce standards and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Ensure compliance with legal regulations, including HSE requirements and environmental discharge.
Implement and supervise ISO9001 and ISO14001 quality and environmental management systems.
Conduct internal audits when appointed.
Promote a strong safety culture when interacting with employees and contractors.
Customer & Business Support
Collaborate with Product Marketing Managers and Sales Teams to organize alpha sites, business unit initiatives, and customer sampling projects.
Lead the team to deliver fast, reliable lab testing and pilot line sampling services, providing “Best Local Service” to external and internal customers and supporting new product development.
Team Leadership & Development
Drive organizational development, team building, and technical training.
Manage talent development, succession planning, and knowledge transfer.
Set objectives, conduct performance reviews, and ensure career growth for team members.
Additional Responsibilities
Prepare and present monthly and annual reports to senior management.
Manage multiple stakeholders, including local business units, global Tech Centers, and international R&D teams.
Ensure compliance with anti-corruption, antitrust, and fair competition laws.
Qualifications
Education & Major
Master’s degree or above in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Surface Treatment, or related fields.
Experience
Minimum 10 years of work experience in chemical or related industries.
Strong knowledge of chemical and material analysis, pilot line operations, wastewater treatment processes; experience in electroplating industry preferred.
Over 5 years of team management experience, leading teams of 10 or more.
Technical Expertise
In-depth understanding of plating and surface treatment technologies and industry trends.
Familiarity with chemicals used in plating and surface treatments, and knowledge of ISO management systems.
Expertise in chemical-related laws and regulations.
