Job Description Summary

As a Technical Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in enabling the delivery of complex, integration heavy technology solutions that support Service Stream’s national operations. This role focuses on end to end system integration, field systems management, and the translation of business and operational needs into clear functional and technical specifications. You will work closely with architects, developers, testers, and vendor partners to ensure integrations are well defined, traceable, and aligned to enterprise standards—supporting scalable, efficient, and high quality delivery outcomes.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract with potential to extend position based out of our Collins Street office, supporting hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office). Please note this role is only open to Australian Citizens.

About the Role

• Elicit, analyse, and document business, functional, and non‑functional requirements for integration‑heavy initiatives.
• Translate business needs into clear functional/technical specs, user stories, interface definitions, and data mapping documentation.
• Analyse current‑state systems, processes, integrations, and data flows to inform solution design.
• Contribute to defining future‑state integration models aligned to enterprise integration patterns and architecture standards.
• Work with solution architects and technical teams to validate integration designs and technical approaches.
• Produce high‑quality integration artefacts such as interface specs, mapping documents, and data flow diagrams.
• Support delivery across Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid methodologies, ensuring end‑to‑end requirement traceability.
• Support SIT, E2E, and UAT by clarifying integration behaviour, expected outcomes, and interface logic.
• Analyse integration defects, data discrepancies, and interface failures to support defect triage and resolution.
• Facilitate workshops with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors on integration design and impacts.
• Communicate integration changes, risks, and dependencies across business and technical teams.

Skills and experience

• Must be an Australian Citizen.
• Minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Business Analyst within large‑scale IT environments.

• Implementation of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) required.
• Demonstrated experience working on complex system integration initiatives across enterprise and field‑based systems.
• Experience with enterprise integration platforms or middleware (e.g., SAP Integration Suite / CPI, API‑based integrations, or similar).
• Proven capability in analysing and documenting interface requirements, data mappings, transformation rules, data structures, and system dependencies.
• Experience working closely with technical teams, including developers, architects, testers, and system integrators.
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, message‑based integrations, APIs, event/file‑based data exchange and data synchronisation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess end‑to‑end impacts across processes, systems, and data flows.
• Experience supporting SIT, E2E, UAT and integration‑focused testing cycles.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and BPMN / process modelling applications (e.g., Signavio, Visio).
• Qualifications such as CBAP, CCBA, or a relevant IT/business degree are desirable.
• Experience working within delivery‑focused, multi‑vendor, and transformation program environments.
