Job Summary

TYLin is seeking a skilled and innovative Technical Bridge Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in hardware and electronics, programming, engineering analysis, and field operations. This role will involve designing bridge structures, integrating technology, and ensuring that safety and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop bridge systems using advanced engineering principles, including finite element modeling and structural dynamics.
  • Utilize basic electronics skills for hardware integration and prototype development, ensuring effective communication between sensors and systems.
  • Conduct PCB design for custom electronic components as required.
  • Program using advanced Python and Arduino to implement sensor communications, data acquisition, and integration with cloud computing platforms.
  • Apply principles of signal processing to optimize sensor data and enhance system performance.
  • Utilize data acquisition software to collect and analyze data for design validation and performance monitoring.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate web development solutions for monitoring and control interfaces.
  • Conduct fieldwork for sensor installation and service, ensuring proper functionality of installed systems.
  • Maintain FAA certification as a drone pilot to support aerial surveys and inspections of bridge sites.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in basic electronics and soldering techniques.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with Arduino.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with PyTorch for machine learning applications is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of signal processing and data acquisition software preferred.
  • Understanding of cloud computing solutions and web development preferred.
  • Proficient in finite element modeling and structural dynamics analysis.
  • Availability for fieldwork and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Valid FAA-certified drone pilot license.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2-6 years of experience in bridge design or a similar engineering discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
