Job Description — Technical Architecture Director, Professional Services
Salesforce Professional Services empowers the world's most complex enterprises to unlock transformational value from the Salesforce platform — including the rapidly evolving frontier of AI-powered business transformation. As trusted advisors and innovators, we work hand-in-hand with customers to help them become Agentic Enterprises: organizations where AI agents work alongside humans to automate workflows, personalize experiences at scale, and drive measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities
Salesforce Professional Services is looking for a Technical Architecture Director. In this role, you will serve as a strategic advisor and Salesforce platform expert to the company's largest, most complex enterprise customers — guiding them through their AI and agentic transformation journey.
Key responsibilities include:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate their journey to becoming an Agentic Enterprise through Agentforce, Data Cloud, and the broader Salesforce platform
- Lead enterprise-level Technical Architecture and Governance, ensuring solutions are AI-ready, scalable, and aligned to Salesforce's Well-Architected Framework
- Architect and govern solutions that integrate Agentforce, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, and multi-cloud Salesforce capabilities to unlock end-to-end business value
- Guide customers and colleagues in rationalizing and deploying emerging AI technologies — including agentic AI, LLM orchestration, and autonomous workflows — that drive measurable business outcomes
- Identify and lead internal critical initiatives to grow the consulting practice; contribute thought leadership on AI architecture, data strategy, and the agentic enterprise
- Contribute to a program vision while advising on enabling technologies, with a strong focus on Agentforce, Data Cloud, and MuleSoft Agent Fabric
- Work closely with Delivery Managers, Solution Architects, and clients to architect solutions that are extendable, AI-ready, and built to minimize technical debt
- Proactively identify and manage risk, and drive issues through to full resolution
- Manage customer expectations and negotiate solutions to complex problems with customers and third-party partners
- Champion AI governance and responsible AI practices in enterprise architecture, ensuring trust and security underpin every solution
- Define multi-year platform roadmaps that align technical debt reduction with AI-readiness
- Partnering with Customers to quantify the ROI of agentic transformations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Enterprise architecture or consulting experience, with a focus on large-scale platform transformations
- Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with Salesforce platform architecture, including one or more of: Agentforce, Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Service Cloud, or Sales Cloud
- Strong application design skills combined with expertise in data, integration, and security architecture — particularly in AI-enabled and agentic contexts
- Experience in Operating Model design for AI-driven organizations
- Experience designing solutions that incorporate AI and/or LLM technologies, including agent orchestration, prompt design, and automated workflow
- Strong presentation skills; able to effectively present and defend a point of view to executive and C-level audiences
- Proven ability to analyze, design, and optimize business processes via technology and integration
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Resourceful, entrepreneurial thinker who can navigate ambiguity and drive to solutions
- Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Salesforce Agentforce, Data Cloud, and/or MuleSoft on enterprise-scale engagements
- CTA (Certified Technical Architect)
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, and enterprise AI strategy
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., System Architect, Application Architect, Technical Architect, Data Cloud)
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and platform security best practices in a Salesforce context
- Prior experience in a Big 4 or equivalent consulting environment
