Overview
The Organon Business Technology Services team is responsible for the operation, support, delivery, and enhancement of IT systems supporting the Manufacturing & Supply (OMS) Business Unit.
This role provides end‑to‑end technical ownership for Organon’s Core manufacturing applications and supporting platforms. The position leads the technical architecture, infrastructure alignment, and lifecycle management of these systems while directing a global application support organization to ensure reliability, compliance, and ongoing modernization.
The role combines deep technical leadership with strong operational oversight, ensuring that Organon’s manufacturing applications remain secure, scalable, high‑performing, and aligned with enterprise architecture and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Ownership & Architecture Leadership
- Serve as technical owner for core manufacturing and supply applications, including PAS‑X, Aveva PI, GLAMS, and related Manufacturing & Supply systems.
- Define and maintain technical architecture, integration patterns, and infrastructure requirements, ensuring alignment with Organon enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead platform strategy, including environment design, system scalability, availability planning, and technology roadmaps.
- Partner with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform engineering teams to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient hosting environments.
- Oversee technical risk management, including obsolescence remediation, patch strategy, and vulnerability reduction.
Global Support Operations Leadership
- Lead and manage the global support teams (internal and external) responsible for incident management, problem management, and service continuity.
- Set and govern operational standards, SLAs, and KPIs for support services across regions and manufacturing sites.
- Ensure consistent global processes, escalation paths, and knowledge management across all support teams.
- Drive continuous improvement of operations through root‑cause analysis, automation, and performance analytics.
Application Lifecycle & Reliability Management
- Own and direct the full lifecycle of core applications, including technical design, configuration, testing, deployment, and retirement.
- Oversee system health, performance, and capacity, proactively identifying optimization opportunities.
- Guide technical changes, upgrades, and enhancements to maintain security, compatibility, and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure alignment between long‑term business needs and application capabilities through roadmap planning.
Vendor & Partner Collaboration
- Act as the primary technical liaison with software vendors for architecture discussions, issue resolution, and strategic planning.
- Manage vendor performance, technical deliverables, and support agreements.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure applications remain aligned with best‑practice architecture and support models.
Strategic & Cross‑Functional Partnership
- Work closely with Manufacturing & Supply stakeholders to understand business processes, constraints, and future capability requirements.
- Engage with global and site SMEs, architects, and validation teams to ensure deployed solutions meet regulatory, quality, and operational needs.
- Support digital transformation and standardization initiatives across manufacturing and supply operations.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Science, Business, or related field; advanced certifications are a plus.
- 5+ years experience in IT or technical support roles, with strong knowledge of Manufacturing (Shop Floor) Systems preferred.
- Strong expertise in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Data Historian, and digital workflow applications (PAS-X, PI, GLAMS…).
- Experience in application management, including incident/problem management and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with SAP production execution and material handling processes (preferred).
- Knowledge of Windows Server environments and upgrade processes.
- Understanding of SDLC, validation, and compliance standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
