Role Title: Technical and Configuration Manager

Role Background and Scope:
Amentum has been tasked by Defence to source a range of specialist resources to provide support for the delivery of a range of patrol vessels, specialist ships, and maritime capabilities for the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Border Force, and partner nations. This includes:

- Delivering six Offshore Patrol Vessels for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering a new sail training ship.
- Delivering twenty‑four Patrol Boats to Pacific and Indian Ocean partner nations under the Commonwealth’s Pacific Maritime Security Program.
- Delivering ten Patrol Boats for the Royal Australian Navy.
- Delivering up to eleven additional Patrol Boats for the Australian Border Force.
- Managing procurement of vessels and vessel‑like assets for Defence and other agencies.
- Supporting other tasking as directed by senior leadership.

The Technical and Configuration Manager will provide enterprise‑level configuration support, establishing and enforcing robust Configuration Management (CM) plans, baselines, and change control that keep design, documentation and deployed materiel aligned. This position will provide assistance in developing Defence compliant CM processes, prepare decision‑ready CM packages, coordinate stakeholders to align configuration cut-overs with trials and operational milestones, and verify supplier deliverables and technical data against CASG policy. This position will enable safe, traceable and auditable delivery of specialist vessels for these naval programs.

Responsibilities include:

- Perform complex technical configuration activities and associated tasks working to agreed priorities and outcomes
- Provide advice on and develop configuration management processes;
- Prepare configuration management plans;
- Coordinate configuration management packages for decision making
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment on matters related to operational milestones
- Review contract deliverables

Essential Requirements:

- Demonstrated experience in supporting Maritime/Defence program CM across acquisition and sustainment, with evidence of establishing baselines, running change boards, and delivering auditable CM packages at design reviews, build, trials and acceptance.
- Ability to develop Configuration Management Plans in alignment with ASDEFCON and ISO 10007 guidelines 
- Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills

Desirable Requirements:
- Qualifications in configuration, asset, quality or systems engineering
- Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing team members
