This position is responsible for identifying leads, educating prospects on products through calls, face to face meetings/presentations, and providing existing customers with exceptional support from beginning to end.

Job Duties

  • Serve customers by selling products. Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product or service needs. Identify and suggest products and services to meet those needs.

  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales. Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.

  • Ensure customer satisfaction by ongoing communication and relationship management. Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.

  • Adjust content of sales presentations by studying the type of sales outlet or trade factor.

  • Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customers.

  • Submit orders by referring to price lists and product literature.

  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual analyses.

  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.

  • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.

  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in marketing, sales, business, or related field required.

  • Three to five years of related sales experience required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
