Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Team Lead is responsible for their assigned area and specific lines to oversee. Team Leads will assist the Production Supervisor with guiding Operator Technicians daily tasks, ensuring quality and the Operators are following SOPs and overseeing scrap and held ware for their area. The Team Lead reports to the Production Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Assists in the coordination of production, distribution and warehousing in accordance with policies.

· Provides leadership, training and coaching to production staff along with managing break schedules, ensuring production staff is appropriately allocated to their areas with guidance of the supervisor and provides feedback on the performance of their Operators to the Supervisor.

· Train new Inspector/Packers in accordance with the training matrix.

· Complete accurately hourly updates to tier 1 board for assigned work cell.

· Implements plans for efficient use of resources including materials, equipment and personnel.

· Demonstrates ability to schedule staff appropriately (full-time and temporary staff).

· Reviews production output and product quality for their assigned area.

· Modifies processes or introduces new methods and ideas to enhance profitable operations and waste reduction.

· Applies current manufacturing techniques (Lean Principles, 5-S, 6-Sigma, etc.) to ensure safe, efficient and effective operations.

· Applies metrics to evaluate performance in key operating areas (throughput, quality, efficiency, output, scrap, etc.).

· Ensures all machine guards and mold guards are in place (assists w/keeping parts off the floor).

· Ensures auxiliary equipment is in place and in working condition.

· Adjusts mold settings; clamp pressures, mold and material temperatures using measuring instruments, hand tools and gauges as required, per the setup sheet.

· Ensures the press and work-station areas are clean after completing setup.

· Analyzes mold problems and assists production supervisor in making adjustments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Prefer 4-years of experience in a manufacturing/plastics injection environment and/or operational experience.

· High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.

· Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment and maintain positive team spirit.

· Demonstrates very detailed organizational skills.

· Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

· Computer experience is preferred, including Microsoft Products.

· Ability to hold teams accountable, ensure safety, quality and delivery is priority and ensures great communication with their team.
