About the role

As a Team Leader, this is your opportunity to coordinate and oversee daily operations of Regional Supported Independent Living Service (Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Whyalla, Port Lincoln), Safe Transport for Youth Program (Youth Bus), Youth Support and Development Service and Support to Aboriginal Youth program (STAY).

Reporting to the Program Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position. This role may be based at Port Pirie, Port August or Whyalla.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Award, Level 6.


How you will make an impact

  • Ensure high-quality, effective, client focused and responsive service delivery by providing leadership to staff in all day-to-day aspects of their roles.

  • Monitor and review program and service delivery to ensure best practice and internal and external service needs are met, including client reviews, complex case management responses, risk and safety plans and client records.

  • Provide leadership in all day-to-day aspects to ensure a high quality, efficient, effective, client focused delivery of service (including rostering, on call support, management of resources)

  • Reflective practices are implemented for the team and contribute to improved outcomes for clients

  • Lead, coach, manage and mentor a team of Case Managers/ Youth Workers to deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based service

  • Create a supportive, high-performing team culture through supervision, reflective practice, professional development, performance management and wellbeing support

What you will bring

  • Degree qualification in social work, social/ community welfare, psychology or related field.

  • Demonstrated high level of sector knowledge and skills attained through previous appointments, service and study/development.

  • Experience in leading and supervising staff in human services or youth service sector.

  • Working across multiple sites is required – office bases are in Port Pirie, Port Augusta, Whyalla and Port Lincoln

  • Travel to Adelaide will be required

  • Working with Children Check (where required)

  • Psychological Assessment (In line with Children and Young People Safety Act 2017)

  • Drivers Licence

  • First Aid Certificate

  • Through Their Eyes (Reporting Abuse and Neglect)

  • A national police record check is required
