The Role: Team Lead, Security & Compliance

As Team Lead, Security & Compliance at Knak, you’ll lead the programs that keep our platform, customers, and company secure.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll operate at the intersection of security, compliance, and business enablement. You’ll guide our approach to frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001, build security awareness across the company, and partner with teams to ensure we grow in a way that’s both fast and secure.

You’ll be a trusted expert and collaborator—helping teams understand not just what to do, but why it matters.

What You’ll Do

Manage security and compliance programs

  • Maintain Knak’s security control framework and oversee continuous monitoring and remediation efforts

Drive security awareness and behavior change

  • Educate control owners, deliver training, and promote best practices across the organization

Collaborate with internal and external partners

  • Work closely with product, engineering, leadership, auditors, and vendors to support security workflows

Maintain and improve security documentation

  • Develop and manage policies, standards, procedures, and internal handbooks

Support Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities

  • Monitor metrics, contribute to reporting, and provide visibility into security and compliance health

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in security and compliance, including leadership or team lead responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001
  • Technical and business knowledge across areas like security training, application security, and compliance programs
  • Proven ability to lead change and influence teams across an organization
  • Strong communication, conflict management, and organizational skills
  • Experience managing people and supporting team growth
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and balance security requirements with business needs

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Security certifications such as CISA or CISM (or are working toward them)
  • Experience in SaaS or high-growth startup environments
