Job Description

The Team Lead, QA Revenue Integrity leads the Revenue Integrity team and the day-to-day operations. The primary functions of the department include, but are not limited to, identification of, correction to pre and post bill coding related issues, charge corrections and appeals. The Team Lead works both independently and collaboratively with a variety of departments and vendors in service of identifying root causes and participating in the development and execution of remediation strategies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinates and is responsible for day-to-day operations.

  • Manages and coordinates personnel including delegating tasks and ensuring a uniform workflow and equitable work distribution.

  • Monitors various data sources and metrics to ensure KPI’s and quality targets are being met and identifies areas of revenue/compliance risk.

  • Develops, implements, and oversees effective and consistent operational policies, processes, tools, and educational materials within Revenue Integrity.

  • Develops and maintains the training and education program for new hire and for existing teammates.

  • Measures and reports ongoing operational metrics and inventory management. 

  • Effectively presents and communicates information and responds to questions.

  • Codes at least 2 hours each week or as needed.

  • Assists with audits as needed.

  • Performs various duties as needed.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Advanced data analytic skills, intermediate Excel proficiency.

  • Knowledge of payer coding & billing guidelines.

  • Ability to identify emerging issues.

  • Ability to communicate with employees, management, and clinicians in a courteous and professional manner with emphasis on giving detailed oral and written instructions and explanations.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting.
     

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • RHIA or RHIT or CCS or CPC, or CCS-P certification preferred or candidate is required to obtain within 18 months.

  • Complete all necessary continuing education and certification maintenance requirements timely with no lapses.

  • Remain in good standing within USACS Coding Training requirements.
     

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds. 

  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform the job.

Salary Range: $59,364-$109,823

Salary Range:

$59,364.00 - $109,823.00

Salary may be determined on several factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, experience, education, geographical location and requirements stated in job description.
