About the team
This role is part of the Payments Settlements department, Business Services Group. Business Services Group is responsible for the provision of banking and payments services to Australian Government agencies, the provision of payment settlement services to Australian financial system participants through the Reserve Bank Information and Transfer System (RITS) and the Fast Settlement Service (FSS), the conduct of Exchange Settlement Accounts and the production and issuance of Australian banknotes .
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Team Lead - Non-Functional Testing to join our Testing Team to be part of Core Modernisation Program which involves a major upgrade of core technology infrastructure. This role is essential for enabling non-functional testing of the migrated Payments Settlements applications, ensuring seamless performance and reliability within the modernized infrastructure. This is a salaried fixed-term engagement, concluding in December 2026.
Key Objectives
Define and implement the non-functional testing strategy for the Infrastructure Migration Project under the CoreMod Program, covering performance, failover, recovery, and other critical testing types for mission-critical payment settlement systems.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to the testing team throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead and mentor individuals and teams to achieve objectives and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define testing strategies and deliverables.
Support the manager with strategic, operational, and day-to-day activities, including stakeholder coordination, defect triage, progress tracking, and accurate reporting.
Log, track, and manage defects through to resolution, working closely with the development and migration teams.
Provide detailed test execution reports, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders.
Drive quality assurance practices to meet compliance and operational standards.
Your Background
Extensive experience in leading, planning, and overseeing non-functional testing activities for mission-critical systems and Infrastructure migration projects.
Demonstrated ability to guide and manage NFT team members, set clear goals, and prioritize work to achieve target outcomes.
Knowledge of risk management processes.
Significant knowledge of project, change management, business analysis and/or testing methodologies, frameworks, techniques and tools.
Deep expertise in non-functional testing areas such as performance, security, and resilience.
Proven track record of leading testing teams through complex migration projects.
Ability to collaborate effectively across technology and business teams.
Exceptional problem-solving skills and clear, confident communication.
Qualifications
Degree in IT, Computer Science or other relevant discipline
ISTQB Advance Level or equivalent test certifications.
