Team Leader will drive production activities in a safe, quality and customer focused manner. Also, maintain training qualifications, work directly with all manufacturing team members and be the role model to drive behaviors and encourage others in the team to display the same. Follows our Quality Policy by continuously improving the quality of our products & services and by ensuring global regulatory compliance. Lead all aspects of the team and conduct training sessions on equipment with SOPs and its functional process in operation.
A day in the Life:
- Coordinate the activities in assigned production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives, including but not limited to owning the deployment of personnel across all work areas and prioritizing production schedules.
- Assure that personnel issues or operational conditions are accurately taken care of during the shift, including but not limited to, safety and medical emergencies, personnel issues, regulatory agency interaction, and technical (process) issues. Update the appropriate Operations Management to take appropriate corrective action.
- Actively maintains training proficiencies in multiple departments to ensure the operation can meet fluctuations in production demands. Achieves proficiencies in new training areas identified as priorities for the team (based on a team training matrix).
- Assign cross training assignments to team members based on strategic needs of the business
- Use Quality System and process documentation, converting raw material to finished goods. Maintain records to align with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
- Review and maintain SOP’s, forms and work instructions and update as the need arises.
- Maintain equipment and rooms in proper operational condition and accurate cleanliness requirements.
- Own the execution of special projects as assigned by Operations management. Participates in PPI activities (Kaizens & JDI’s) as appropriate and regularly uses continuous improvement methodologies in daily work.
- Supervise the completion of routine inspections and regulatory interaction. Plan as well as ensure that the operating and maintenance staff handles hazardous materials and wastes in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
- Provide input to employee performance management process for shift personnel.
- Willingly changes job duties and tasks (whether on a daily, weekly or monthly basis) to support the strategic priorities of the Manufacturing Operation.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a regulated environment
- Previous leadership, team lead, or shift lead experience preferred
- Experience with filing and/or packaging automated equipment (set-up/troubleshooting)
- Manufacturing Proficiencies:
- Quality and compliance.

- Technical Proficiencies:
- Experience and possess proficient understanding of all Value Streams and processing techniques
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Brings good leadership skills to improve efficiency, flexibly, creative thinking to complete assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to apply problem solving methodology to understand root cause and implement solutions.
- Knowledge in MS Office including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail required.
- Teamwork and collaboration.
- Clear oral and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of general scientific practice, principles, and concepts as well as analytical skills.
- General understanding of machinery and mechanics is required.
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Work in a controlled manufacturing environment; is required to lift 25 lbs. May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties.
- Able to work safely with materials and equipment.
- Expose to fumes and chemicals such as raw materials, cleaners, etc.
- Able to work overtime and flexible shifts*.
- Various levels of gowning are required.
- *Some overtime will be required with prior notice to support business needs. Emergency overtime with little notice to ensure operational objectives.
