Job Description:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently seeking a formulation team lead supporting Development Specialty Manufacturing Night shift Mon- Wed (FOWN) in Cincinnati, OH.

The Manufacturing Leader coordinates and drives the production schedule and is responsible for the FOWN DSM manufacturing team. Administers all company policies with respect to GMPs, validation, quality, safety, health, attendance, and environment. With QA, makes quality decisions regarding batches in each manufacturing area. Develops employees and coordinates training on new equipment. Identifies, Improves, and implements key changes in quality, safety, and productivity to department SOP's and unit operations.

Applicant should have good knowledge of GMP's of dry product's manufacturing. Must have the ability to empower, motivate and develop individuals. Must have ability to resolve problems and make decisions independently. Must work and communicate well with associates in multiple areas. Identifies trends and facilitates improvement efforts based upon the findings. Proactively drives quality improvements to achieve department safety, quality, and productivity goals. Models effective and constructive communication and interactions with technical departments both orally and in writing; maintain acceptable proficiency in technical and non-technical (e.g. interpersonal) skills. Requires a passion for problem solving.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and leads 10+ hourly ensuring flawless execution and maintaining high quality standards.
  • Collaborate with teams across different departments to determine production schedules and enhance manufacturing efficiency.
  • Strictly adhere to safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment for all employees
  • Tracks and reports out on departmental metrics and facilitates improvement efforts.
  • Coordinates training and develops employees applying banding matrixes and new equipment opportunities.
  • Improves quality of processes as well as identify safety and efficiency improvements.
  • Ability to lead Audit, Client, and site tours for the Development & Commercial Operations.
  • Lead quality performance, rapids, and investigation for any quality events.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Good working knowledge and understanding of GMPs related to dry products' manufacturing.
  • Ability to tackle problems and make decisions independently.
  • Proactively drives quality improvements to achieve department safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

How will you get here?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates Degree or 5 years of pharmaceutical manufacturing experience or any combination of both.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering roles, preferably in the scientific industry
  • Applicants with the experience/exposure of working in a cleanroom environment are highly sought after.
  • Strong motivation and proven success in implementing process improvements
  • Ability to compete in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledgeable of BI Launch Pad, SAP, Maximo, Trackwise, and SCW software’s.
  • Knowledge of THP’s software and SOP’s
  • Basic knowledge and experience using manufacturing equipment & mechanical competence
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Ability to read work instructions, and procedure manuals/diagrams
  • Ability to work well with autonomously.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical production and packaging preferred.
