As Team Lead in Network Security Edge Defense you will focus on capabilities development of your team members that align with the function’s vision. Description of the area
The Edge Defense team belongs to the Network Security organization, a cornerstone of Information Security. We provide the technologies and services that protect the entire network against IT Security incidents and digital threats.
The core stack of this team includes:
Perimeter Defense: Network Firewalls and DDoS Mitigation
Modern Architecture: Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) services
Cloud Network Security in AWS, Azure, GCP
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Edge Vision & Modern Architecture: Define the digital roadmap for Perimeter Defense (Firewalls, DDoS) and Modern Architecture (Zero Trust) across the most external facing network segments, both on-premise and in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Operational Excellence & Automation: Drive an "Automation First" mindset for external network security, leveraging APIs and scripting to replace manual work with scalable security code ("Shift Left").
Cloud-Native Security: Lead the security strategy for the complex multi-cloud footprint (AWS, Azure, GCP), focusing on securing the perimeter and network edge in the cloud.
Lifecycle Management & Compliance: Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Edge Defense technologies, from discovery to global scale, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, excluding GxP for non-manufacturing focus).
Business Translation: Connect technical security performance of the external network to broader business outcomes, ensuring security is an accelerator for R&D and other non-manufacturing environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Deeply understand customer and business needs to shape the strategic direction and digital roadmap for the Edge Defense product, focusing on delivering high-value outcomes.
Who You Are
Experience
5+ years of experience in Information Security is an asset
3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or regulated healthcare technology industry is an asset
5+ years of experience in people leadership, product/service management, program management or a similar role, with a proven track record of building high performing teams
Education
Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related Engineering field or equivalent experience
Professional Information Security certifications are a plus (e.g. CISSP, CISM)
Technical Skills
Proven background and solid foundation in Information Security specifically in Network Firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet), NAC (e.g., Cisco ISE), and ZTNA solutions
Experience in multi-cloud environments is a plus
Operational Excellence: Strong understanding of ITIL frameworks (Incident, Change, and Problem Management) and Continuous Improvement methodologies
Automation Mindset: Hands-on experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and integrating security tools via APIs
Strong understanding of the product discovery and development lifecycle. Familiarity with GxP, FAIR data principles, and data privacy regulations (GDPR)
Leadership skills
Ability to translate high-level business and scientific goals into a concrete product vision and roadmap
Good communication and influencing skills, with the ability to manage expectations and align diverse groups towards a common goal
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of Information Security experts
