Job Summary

The role is responsible for profitably leading the AVMS Risk and Asset Remarketing function, ensuring that all end of contract processes are executed efficiently and effectively to support strong financial and operational outcomes.

Job Description

  • Accountable for the EOC processes and policies.

  • Ensure that the staff responsible for the EOC process’ complete all administrative requirements associated with the AVMS EOC policies. This includes providing support and guidance to the team in maximising profitability achieved by the disposals channels.

  • Manage the termination of contracts on the relevant AVMS systems and ensuring that all associated costs to EOC are applied accurately.

  • Accountable for all Disposal of Assets processes and policies.

  • Manage the co-ordination of AVMS stock to be allocated to the various Trade Centres nationally – this is according to the geographic collection point.

  • Responsible for interactions with all the relevant Trade Centres nationally, in terms of calculating outstanding capital, market value and expected reserve pricing.

  • Analysing auction results versus wholesale offers achieved by external agents. Reporting on all sales results to line Manager in the prescribed documentation for discussion and analysis.

  • Continuous research on the South African vehicle market to ensure industry standards are kept in consideration, when disposing of assets.

  • Keeping abreast of industry changes and norms to ensure the profitability of business. 

  • AVMS discposes of assets through various Trade Centres and auction houses and this role is responsible for ensuring that these arrangements are documented hrough a process and are mutually beneficial to all stakeholders.

  • This role is responsible for the management of all suppliers and 3rd parties relevant to the Risk and Remarketing department.

  • Management of all inherent risks associated with risk and remarketing

  • Monitor and ensure all adherence to ABSA and AVMS risk control policies and procedure in relation to disposal of assets as well as associated interactions with Trade Centres

  • Monitor and manage the mandates issued out to any team members within the business to ensure that there is control on the autonomy of signing off on settlements and disposal.

  • To manage and support the AVMS people management strategy for the risk and remarketing department with focus on talent management, devlopment, resourcing, retention and business continuity.

  • Embed formal perfomance development and informal coaching initiatives with the team.

Education and Experience Required

  • Degree or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification

  • Seven (7) years or more experience within a Managed Maintenance and/or Operating Leasing and/or Fleet Management environment

  • Experience in managing Risk , Asset Remarketing and Pricing within a Fleet Management environment
