This posting is for one unionized contractual appointment. A Teaching Assistant is a Graduate Student employed to assist the Course Supervisor as a Teaching Assistant in a classroom environment. Teaching Assistant Positions are governed by the Collective Agreement between McGill University and the Association of Graduate Students Employed at McGill (AGSEM).

Position Summary:

This requisition is for one position at 45 hours, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology. Effective dates of appointment are January 14th 2026 to May 1, 2026. Course dates are January 5 to April 14, 2026.

Posting Dates (2 days ): January 11, 2026 - January 13, 2026 (00:00 am)


Responsibilities may include:

  • Marking

  • Preparing class materials

  • Leading discussion group

  • Assisting students’ learning

  • Attending lectures/labs is required

  • Lecture Mondays and Labs Tuesdays from 8:35AM to 11:25AM


Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of statistics

  • Background in the subject matter of the course (prior successful completion of the course [EDPE 682] or equivalent)

  • Significant experience with SPSS statistical software

  • Significant experience with psychological, individual, personality assessments

  • Experience using MyCourses for course management

  • Knowledge of French may be required
