Job Description:
All employees of Parker Performing Arts School will work together to achieve our school’s vision and mission. In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed below, we seek a Reading Intervention Teacher who can assist in planning and providing individual and group instruction to students.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Knowledge of the READ Act and ability to fulfill requirements
● Support classroom teachers with literacy instruction and intervention across a variety of levels
● Collaborate with literacy team to effectively implement reading instruction and intervention for students
● Work with Tier 2/Tier 3 students to provide effective reading interventions
● Effectively teach phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency skills
● Effectively differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners and work alongside classroom teachers to support differentiation in the classroom
● Administer and oversee the iReady assessment and progress monitoring across a body of evidence for students on given caseload
● Communicate proactively with other staff, students, and parents
Required Qualifications:
● Masters of Reading or Endorsement in Reading preferred (or equivalent experience)
● Strong literacy training and experience in the application of best practices in early/emergent reading strategies.
● Completion of mandatory Read Act Training
● Proficient use of technology
● Good diagnostic skills
● Excellent communication skills including report writing and record keeping
Preferred Qualifications:
● Passion for the arts in education.
● Experience in charter schools
● Experience as a literacy specialist
