The Opportunity 

As a Tax Data Reporting Specialist, you will be based in Bangkok with Agoda Services Co. Ltd, reporting to the Tax Data & Technology, Associate Director.  You will join a rapidly growing Tax Team responding to the evolving tax landscape for digital services.  While being part of the broader Finance team,you will work closely with Product, Tech, Supply, Legal and Senior Leadership teams at Agoda as well as our sister brand companies and our US parent company.   

You will own the end-to-end analysis and implementation of global digital platform tax reporting regimes, including EU’s DAC7 and similar data reporting frameworks emerging globally (e.g., OECD Model Rules, Australia, Canada, China and others).  The role sits at the intersection of tax regulationdata, and technology focusing on tax and data analysis, schema and systems understanding, as well as project coordination partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely, and scalable data reporting compliance.   

While the underlying tax rules are relatively straightforward, these regimes require strong cross-functional coordination, robust data processes, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory developments. This role is ideal for a professional who is comfortable working with data, can manage detailed tasks and timelines, and is eager to grow their expertise in data-driven tax compliance within a product and technology-led organization.    

Due to the rapid changes in the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time.  You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities as they occur.    

 

Key Responsibilities 

1.Regulatory Analysis and Risk Management 

  • Monitor and interpret global digital platform tax reporting regimes (e.g., DAC7, SERR, OECD Model Rules, local implementations) and translate regulations into actionable business and data requirements. 
  • Identify grey areas, assess compliance risks, and recommend pragmatic, well documented positions in coordination with external advisors, where required. 
  • Prepare status and risk updates for leadership, including alignment with our US parent company and sister brands, as needed.  

2.Data & Schema Analysis for Tax Reporting

  • Define required data attributes, schemas, and reporting logic to meet regulatory obligations. 
  • Work with Product/Tech/Data teams to identify and fix data gaps, quality issues and validation/reconciliation issues that impact reporting. 

3. Project Management & Cross-Functional Delivery

  • Coordinate end to end implementation and maintenance of tax data reporting regimes across Tax, Product, Supply, Finance, and other teams. 
  • Support project planning by helping define scope, timelines, ownership, and follow ups. 
  • Participate in solution design discussions and provide tax subject matter input. 

4. Compliance Operations 

  • Establish and manage key compliance processes, including data collection, due diligence, partner communications, and enforcement measures where applicable. 
  • Perform UAT and review data and report quality, working with Product/Tech to resolve data/systems issues prior to submissions. 
  • Own regulatory calendars, filing deadlines, and communications with tax authorities as required. 

5. Support for Product/Tech Roadmap & Vendors

  • Collaborate with Product/Tech on roadmap initiatives supporting partner data collection, validation, storage, and reporting (e.g., Compliance Center, APIs). 
  • Coordinate with external vendors where thirdparty solutions are required. 

 

Qualifications Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Law or a related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience in tax, tax technology, regulatory reporting, or data compliance preferably within a large tech/digital platform company or in a Big 4/professional services firm. 
  • Understanding of international informational reporting regimes (e.g., DAC7, SERR, OECD Model Rules or similar) 
  • Demonstrated experience translating regulatory requirements into data and systems solutions. 
  • Data literacy, including the ability to query and validate large datasets using SQL and common BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI). 
  • Proactive, detail-oriented mindset with strong ownership, sound judgment and good documentation habits. 
  • Proven ability to work crossfunctionally with technical and nontechnical teams, with strong communication and coordination skills. 
  • Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
