About The Position
The Tax Planning Manager plays a critical role in advancing the tax function of Ameren. This position will lead high-impact strategic initiatives, drive process improvements, implement emerging technologies (including AI-enabled solutions) and ensure Ameren remains compliant, efficient and forward-thinking in a complex regulated environment. This position combines deep technical tax expertise with strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across finance, legal, operations and regulatory teams. The Tax Planning Manager will help shape the future of Ameren's tax strategy while driving innovation and operational excellence.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from an accredited college or university required. CPA or law degree required. MBA in accounting and/or Masters in Taxation preferred. Seven or more years of progressive tax experience required. Five or more years of supervisory or team/project leadership experience required. Experience working for a Big 4 public accounting firm or a large law firm, as well as experience working in the regulated utility industry, is strongly preferred. Significant experience handling complex corporate tax projects and cross-functional initiatives required. Some state income tax experience preferred. Experience writing and/or reviewing technical tax memoranda required.
Compensation Range:
$131,900.00 - $204,400.00At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
