We are seeking a talented individual to join our Pacific Tax team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a key member of the Pacific Tax team, you will work closely with Marsh Global Tax colleagues based in and outside the Pacific region to support tax matters in the Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea. You will provide expert advice on direct and indirect taxes, revenue authority reviews/audits, tax governance and controls, assist with tax reporting and compliance reviews, and contribute to key projects and merger & acquisition transactions.

We will count on you to:

  • Provide tax advisory support and direction on general tax matters across the Pacific region
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and manage tax projects to support effective tax rate management and compliance requirements
  • Analyse and recommend tax positions, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding
  • Support quarterly and year-end group tax reporting and compliance processes, reviewing income tax provisions and tax returns
  • Manage regional tax reviews, audits, and dispute resolution initiatives in collaboration with Controllership and Finance teams
  • Work with the global Transfer Pricing team to manage transfer pricing analysis and service characterisation for tax purposes

What you need to have:

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant tax experience covering direct tax, international tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing, ideally from public accounting practice and/or in-house tax roles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of working on tax issues in the Pacific region
