Role Description
This is an exciting new general tax role created within FNZ’s Group Tax team to be involved in managing the group’s tax affairs across the full suite of tax disciplines (direct, indirect and employment tax).
The Group Tax Function and Head of Tax are based in Edinburgh, with team members in Europe and Asia as well. You will be working with colleagues and stakeholders from across FNZ’s global locations.
The role will give the successful candidate exposure to the world of rapid growth regulated fintech and the tax opportunities arising from this environment.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Working alongside tax team leaders to:
Manage appointed advisors and deliver seamless global annual compliance, investment incentive claims and tax authority communications
Communicate tax input for M&A, divestments, liquidations and expansion into new territories
Educate stakeholders on key tax matters
Interact with Finance, HR, Share Schemes, Reward, Global Mobility and payroll to cover tax matters for employees and contractors
Prepare tax provisioning, withholding tax calculations and run operational aspects of the group transfer pricing policy
Manage tax governance controls and documentation
Deliver advisory tax input that keeps commerciality and clarity at the very centre

Requirements
CTA, CA, ACA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong practical knowledge of tax accounting under IFRS and application to corporate tax compliance
Awareness of indirect tax and employment tax compliance obligations
Proven track record in managing workflows and delivering improvements to processes and deliverables
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form
Proven ability to develop collaborative working relationships across multiple teams internally, and with external tax advisors
Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple work streams with varied deadlines
Competent in use of Microsoft Excel, ERP systems and reports, and an awareness of future technology trends (incl. AI)
Exposure to international tax preferred
Experience working in Financial Services or Fintech industries and with multinational organisations preferred
