Position Overview:

Ameresco is seeking a Corporate Tax Manager to join our Finance team in Framingham, MA. The Corporate Tax Manager will be a critical part of the Tax Department, reporting into the Senior Director of Tax. In this role you will contribute to many aspects of both income and indirect tax. This includes assisting with identifying and documenting various energy related tax incentives as well as tax depreciation, income tax compliance, tax accounting, technical tax research and various other matters related to the Company’s operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Use ONESOURCE Income Tax compliance software to prepare federal, multi-state and local tax returns, and extensions.

  • Use BNA Fixed Asset Software to maintain tax depreciation reports and projections.

  • Work with internal accountants to gather information for Forms 5471, CBCR and state apportionment.

  • Use ONESOURCE Income Tax Provision software to compute estimated payments and make payments.

  • Help prepare corporate income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 using ONESOURCE Income Tax Provision software.

  • Maintain tax calendar encompassing all tax filings (forms, payments, returns, etc.) and ensure timely and accurate compliance with all tax deadlines.

  • Assist with information and analysis as well as compilation and review to enable timely and accurate responses to Federal and State notices and audit requests.

  • Assist accounting with GL account analyses and prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger tax accounts.

  • Assist with federal and state income/indirect tax audits by gathering and preparing all necessary documentation and correspondence.

  • Assist with state and local tax licensing and permitting.

  • Monitor tax legislation including the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act (federal, state, local and international).

  • Support the development and implementation of SOX controls, standards and processes in accordance with the tax policies and internal controls.

  • Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field. 

  • Minimum 5 years work-related experience in public accounting and/or renewable energy industry.

  • Proficient with preparing tax returns using ONESOURCE Income Tax compliance software.

  • Experience with maintaining depreciation schedules.

  • Ability to plan, organize and review tax processes and calculations.

Additional Qualifications:

  • CPA license is preferred.

  • Knowledge of Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740).

  • Microsoft Power BI a plus.

  • Working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and Regulations. C-Corp and/or Partnership experience preferred.

  • Experience with BNA Fixed Asset Software a plus.

  • Diligent with deadlines and responding to tax notices and inquiries.

  • Strong computer and technical skills including Microsoft Office Applications and tax research applications such as Checkpoint.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $111,000–$161,500 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
