Role Overview
We are seeking a meticulous and technically adept Tax Data Analyst to join our Finance Shared Services team within a global multinational organization. This role will serve as a critical link between the centralized Tax function at Head Office and the various ERP systems deployed across the group. The analyst will be responsible for extracting, harmonizing, and preparing financial data to support both Direct and Indirect Tax compliance activities across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
ERP Data Extraction & Mappinp
Extract financial and transactional data from multiple ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) used across the group.
Map data fields to standardized tax reporting templates for both Direct and Indirect Tax purposes.
Data Harmonization & Transformation
Normalize and reconcile data from disparate systems to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Develop and maintain data dictionaries and transformation logic for tax-relevant datasets.
Tax Compliance Support
Prepare data sets for use in corporate income tax filings, VAT returns, Intrastat reports, and other statutory submissions.
Collaborate with the centralized Tax team to ensure data meets jurisdictional compliance requirements.
Process Optimization
Identify opportunities to automate data extraction and transformation processes.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable workflows for recurring tax compliance cycles.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Liaise with regional finance teams, IT, and tax advisors to resolve data discrepancies and improve data quality.
Support internal audits and external tax reviews by providing accurate and timely data extracts.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.
Ideally 5 years of experience in a finance shared services or tax operations role within a multinational environment.
Strong working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and data extraction tools.
Familiarity with Direct and Indirect Tax compliance processes across multiple jurisdictions.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with SQL, Power Query, or Alteryx is a plus.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Attributes
Experience supporting centralized tax functions in a matrixed organization.
Exposure to EU VAT frameworks, Intrastat reporting, and global withholding tax processes.
Ability to interpret organizational hierarchies and map role-based responsibilities.
Identify opportunities to automate data extraction and transformation processes.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable workflows for recurring tax compliance cycles.
