Overview:
Asset manager function will support various tax credit equity investments, primarily Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (“LIHTCs”).
This is a flex position. Position will work with various members of the Community Finance team to assist in the following: (i) underwriting of proposed new investments; (ii) asset management of existing investments; (iii) exits of existing investments; and (iv) special projects for the Head of Community finance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Origination of New Investments
- Compile and analyze appropriate due diligence materials (e.g., market studies, cash flow pro formas, investment summaries, economic benefit schedules, sponsor financial statements).
- Attend customer calls, meetings, and site visits.
- Work with underwriting team and prepare drafts of internal bank investment approval memos.
- Interface with appropriate internal department relative to having underwriting and profitability models run on each prospective investment. Interface with appropriate internal bank parties during screening and approval processes as applicable.
Asset Management of Existing Investments
- Assist in completing annual reviews of existing investments in accordance with established protocols.
- Contribute to draft content for comprehensive review of overall portfolio.
- Assist in continuous monitoring asset management duties in accordance with established protocol.
Exits of Existing Investments
- Collect and source all applicable investment disposition related documents (e.g., audits, tax returns, legal documentation)
- Analyze estimated asset value as well as potential tax consequences of investment exit candidates.
- Draft memos recommending exit timing and price.
Special Projects
- Work on special/ad-hoc projects as determined by Head of Community Banking
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years relevant experience or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 9 years higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience.
