As a Tax Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for a team of tax consultants that will provide tax compliance services to PwC's clients.
Qualifications / Certifications required:
Relevant South African degree / diploma with Taxation as core module
Registered Tax Technician or Tax Professional (SAIT) or registered Chartered Accountant (SA)
Experience required:
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in tax compliance and tax administration OR minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Private practice.
Previous management experience of at least 2 years.
Responsibilities of role:
- Management of tax compliance team
- Tax compliance work specifically of companies
- Administration of provisional and final income tax returns and related SARS matters
- Maintenance of tax clients on tax management software and SARS eFiling
- Liaison with SARS, clients and staff regarding assessments, objections, disputes, refunds, queries, registrations
- Following up on outstanding SARS matters
- Meet with SARS on behalf of clients and PwC
- Ensure clients’ tax compliance affairs are kept up to date
- Approval of International Transfers (AIT) and tax compliance status requests
- Responding to SARS verification queries
- Client and PwC staff consultations
- Comply with internal risk management procedures
- General administrative tasks
- Attend internal and external training
Skill sets required:
- Excellent project management skills
- Management of people, delegation skills
- Self starter
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking skills
- Sound computer literacy
- Experience on GreatSoft or similar package
- Sound knowledge of SA Income Tax Act and Tax Administration Act
- Registered tax practitioner or willing to register
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Must be prepared to work overtime
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport
