DESCRIPTION:
Join our Tax team at Thermo Fisher Scientific where you'll contribute to ensuring tax compliance and optimization across our global operations. As a Tax Analyst II, you'll be responsible for managing complex tax filings, conducting detailed research, and implementing tax strategies that support our company's growth. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll analyze financial data, prepare tax returns, and identify opportunities for tax savings while ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree with no prior experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of experience in corporate tax analysis or similar role
• Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• Professional tax qualification or certification (CPA, CA, CFA) preferred
• Strong knowledge of local and international tax laws and regulations
• Advanced proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, JDE, or similar)
• Proven ability to manage multiple tax compliance deadlines and projects simultaneously
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Experience in transfer pricing documentation and analysis
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency in English; additional language skills welcome
• Experience with tax audits and authority inquiries
• Knowledge of indirect taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax) and property taxes
• Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and implement solutions
• Experience with tax planning and risk assessment
• Prior Big 4 accounting firm experience preferred
