The Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization’s tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities. This role involves analyzing financial data, assisting with tax returns’ data preparation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and assisting with audits. The Tax Analyst works closely with the Tax Director as well as finance and accounting teams to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities while maintaining adherence to all applicable laws.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for the organization, including income and other filings.
- Assist with tax planning and research to identify potential savings and minimize risk.
- Analyze financial records and transactions for accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Prepare tax provision calculations for financial reporting purposes.
- Respond to tax notices and inquiries from government authorities.
- Assist in implementing process improvements for greater efficiency in tax operations.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in tax analysis, accounting, or a related role.
- SAP experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficient use of a computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), and other related tax applications or software.
- Strong understanding of U.S. federal, state, and local tax regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing tax documents.
- Ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills.
- Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.

$61,352.00 - $106,444.00
Actual compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as geographic location.
