We’re actively seeking a talented Talent Programs Specialist to join our Talent Management team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Talent Programs Specialist, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by supporting and implementing strategies, insights, and processes for talent programs such as performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and executive coaching.  You will fill an existing role that sits on the People Experience (PX) team within Talent Management, reporting directly to the AVP of Talent Enablement.  Your colleagues will include other talent programs and employee experience & belonging specialists across the Talent Enablement team.

How you’ll help us move forward:

  • Plan and execute annual talent programs and processes (e.g., performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, career pathing, assessments, officer promotions, executive coaching, high potential and rotational programs)
  • Collaborate with business leaders and COEs to ensure talent programs and initiatives are globally aligned with broader enterprise workforce goals, gaps, and future needs
  • Align programs and initiatives with Pacific Life’s Values, Behaviors, and Strategies
  • Collaborate with the People Solutions team to leverage technology for streamlined and data-driven talent practices
  • Establish, track, and mature key metrics to measure the impact and success of talent programs
  • Provide data-based insights into Pacific Life’s talent to inform business and People Experience decision making and action planning
  • Maintain clear documentation and governance around talent programs and processes to support consistency and scalability
  • Monitor external best practices and emerging trends to drive continuous improvement and incorporate innovative approaches that enhance the effectiveness and user experience of talent programs
  • Provide PX, employees and leaders with tools, resources, and guidance to support understanding and adoption of talent programs
  • Work with communications and other partners to educate and train for implementation
  • Integrate into employee experience, work across Talent Enablement and Talent Management team
  • Demonstrate strong relationships with HR Business Partners to ensure talent programs deliver on Enterprise, Divisional, and Functional needs
  • Support leaders and PX colleagues in translating talent program outcomes into actional development plans, stretch assignments, and targeted learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to workforce planning conversations by providing insights on talent gaps, emerging skill needs, and internal pipeline health

The experience you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Industrial-Organizational psychology, business, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in performance management, talent management, career and/or development programs
  • 3+ years of managing enterprise-wide talent programs such as succession, onboarding, high-potential, etc. – Career Pathing/skills
  • Certifications in various talent assessments
  • Strong familiarity with HR systems such as Workday
  • Experience using data and insights to inform actions, decisions, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to synthesize and simplify complex topics
  • Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration

What makes you stand out:

  • Master’s degree in HR, Industrial-Organizational psychology, business administration, or related field
  • Experience in a global environment, preferably in the insurance or financial services sector

Working Conditions:

  • Occasional travel may be required

Base Pay Range:

The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

$113,490.00 - $138,710.00
