Talent Experience Manager

As the Talent Experience Manager, you will be responsible for promoting employee engagement, culture, recognition, and retention within VCU Health System. You will play a crucial role in assessing and creating strategies for shaping our organizational culture to reflect a high retention and engaged work environment. Your objective will be to develop strategies to improve the overall well-being of our team members, ultimately enhancing their performance, job satisfaction, engagement, and recognition. All of these efforts will impact the VCUHS culture, making VCUHS an employer of choice for the Commonwealth of Virginia.

In this role, you will adopt a framework that will support the QUEST 2028 goal of Workforce Wellness, develop opportunities for VCUHS employees to grow in a just culture, collaborate with various departments to design and implement comprehensive well-being/engagement programs tailored to the needs and interests of our team members. You will conduct assessments to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to address them. You will work across departments to analyze retention efforts within the organization. Additionally, you will manage and evaluate the effectiveness of all well-being and culture initiatives, providing recommendations for enhancements as needed.

To succeed in this role, you must have a strong working knowledge in building engagement action planning, recognition programs, culture development and a deep understanding of the latest trends in employee well-being. You should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. You must be able to build strong relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, as well as external partners and vendors.

Essential Job Statements

  • Develop and implement company-wide wellbeing and retention initiatives. 

  • Develop Workforce Wellness committees throughout the Enterprise. 

  • Conduct needs assessments to determine areas for improvement in employee well-being. 

  • Design and deliver engagement and retention trainings and workshops for employees. 

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of wellness programs and initiatives and make recommendations for improvements. 

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to support employee well- being, engagement, and recognition initiatives. 

  • Track and analyze data related to employee wellbeing and present reports to management. 

  • Ensure responsibility and visible commitment of diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, programs, and initiatives through collaboration and implementation of initiatives across the health system.   

  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Human Resources Department.

Employment Qualifications 


Required Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in organizational development, Human Resources, or closely related field   

Combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. 

Preferred Education: 

Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum Qualifications 

Years and Type of Required Experience 

5 years of Employee Wellbeing/Organizational Development experience.   

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 

Strong knowledge of wellness/engagement industry trends and best practices. 

Excellent communication and presentation skills. 

Proven ability to build relationships and influence employees at all levels of the organization. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively. 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
