About the Role & Your Impact

You will be a key player within the highly skilled Roche EMEA Recruiting team, part of the Integrated Workforce Strategies (IWS) organization. While your primary focus will be South Africa, you will collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition Partners across the EMEA Region and our global network. This role offers wide exposure beyond South Africa, including opportunities to recruit for other countries and take part in or lead high-impact recruitment transformation projects across functions and geographies.

Key Challenges

In this highly strategic and challenging role, you will focus on these core activities:

  • Strategic Consulting & Partnership: Act as a professional, consultative partner to business leaders on all talent acquisition aspects. You will closely collaborate with People & Culture Business Partners to gain insight into upcoming business priorities.

  • End-to-End Recruitment Mastery: Expertly drive full cycle recruiting processes, designing customized talent acquisition strategies and solutions. This includes active candidate sourcing & pipelining, talent marketing, selection, ensuring a positive candidate experience, and prioritizing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I).

  • Offer Management: Oversee the complex offer process, including creating proposals based on the Roche compensation & benefits framework and pay equity considerations, obtaining approvals, extending offers, and negotiating with candidates when required.

  • Confidentiality & Transformation: Work with People Relations Partners to ensure a high level of confidentiality on recruitment topics. You may also have the opportunity to lead recruitment transformation projects across functions/countries.

Who you are as our Ideal Candidate

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience & Passion: At least 5 years of proven work experience in HR or Talent Acquisition, with success as a recruiter, headhunter, or consultant (internal and/or external). You have a strong passion for People & Culture/Human Resources, particularly Talent Acquisition.

  • Strategic Acumen: Expertise in building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders on all hierarchical levels, both within the business and the People & Culture team. You are well-versed in talent attraction, sourcing, and assessing.

  • Influence & Negotiation: First-class communication and interpersonal skills are a must, as you network and build long-term relationships, often at a very senior level. You have high influencing skills and are an excellent negotiator.

  • Tool Dexterity: You are a diligent user and expert of applicant tracking and sourcing tools such as Workday, Phenom People, and LinkedIn.

The Ideal Profile (Assets):

  • Proven experience in the Life Science/Pharma industry.

  • Experience working in a multinational matrix organization.

  • Excellent coaching and advising skills, enabling you to be a trusted partner to business clients in their hiring decisions.

  • Ability to work effectively within international and cross-divisional teams.

  • A mindset that thrives in a dynamic, self-organized environment, driving innovation and embracing new challenges.

  • The dexterity to participate in or lead recruiting squads across regions or globally.
