Gloucester based with the option of hybrid working up to 2 days per week, once competent on systems & processes

About the role:

As a Talent Acquisition Consultant, you’ll play a key role in attracting, hiring and retaining high‑quality talent across a designated business area. You’ll partner closely with hiring managers, provide expert recruitment support, and ensure a seamless, candidate‑centric experience throughout the hiring lifecycle.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with hiring managers, acting as their first point of contact for recruitment needs
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand new vacancies and create compelling, optimised job adverts
  • Post roles across job boards and social channels to attract diverse talent
  • Proactively source candidates using job boards, social media and smart sourcing techniques
  • Screen applicants against agreed criteria and coordinate interviews within agreed timeframes
  • Deliver excellent customer service to both hiring managers and candidates
  • Manage the offer and compliance process, ensuring consistency and timely completion
  • Maintain accurate recruitment administration using Workday ATS
  • Analyse recruitment data, including time‑to‑hire and key KPIs
  • Support the wider TA team to ensure a smooth, efficient recruitment process
  • Promote Mears as an employer of choice and uphold a One Mears approach
  • Work collaboratively with the wider HR function to deliver a joined‑up service
  • Attend careers fairs, recruitment events and community engagement activities to promote opportunities at Mears Group
  • Visit branches nationwide to support hiring managers face‑to‑face and gain a deeper understanding of local recruitment needs
  • Be prepared to travel across the UK as required

Role Criteria:

  • Previous recruitment experience (in‑house or agency)
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
  • Resilient, adaptable and confident making independent decisions
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with ATS systems (Workday desirable)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (desirable)
