Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a skilled Talend Developer to support and enhance our data integration landscape. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust ETL processes using Talend Open Studio, collaborating with data architects and business analysts to deliver scalable and secure data workflows. Your contributions will underpin enterprise data warehousing initiatives, support data governance standards, and ensure data integrity across the organization’s data ecosystem. This position will enable efficient data management and support strategic data-driven decisions.
Software Requirements
Required: Talend Open Studio (latest version), SQL (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), version control systems (Git), data management tools, basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python)
Preferred: Talend Data Management Suite, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), big data tools (Hadoop, Spark), data governance solutions
Experience level: 5+ years of hands-on ETL development with Talend in enterprise environments
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize ETL workflows using Talend tools to support data warehousing and analytics projects
Collaborate effectively with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable data pipelines
Troubleshoot, resolve, and optimize existing data integration processes to improve performance and reliability
Ensure data security, integrity, and adherence to data governance policies across all workflows
Document technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and process procedures for ongoing maintenance and audits
Conduct unit testing, system testing, and support deployment activities to ensure quality and operational excellence
Support ongoing data management initiatives, including data migration, cleansing, and validation activities
Identify opportunities for automation and process efficiencies to streamline data workflows
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Essential: SQL, Shell scripting, Python (preferred) for automation and process customization
Preferred: Java or other ETL scripting languages for complex workflows
Databases/Data Management:
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server), data modeling, and query optimization
Cloud Technologies:
Basic understanding of cloud data services (AWS S3, Azure Data Lake, GCP BigQuery) (preferred)
Frameworks and Libraries:
Talend Open Studio, Talend Data Management Suite, connectors for cloud and enterprise data sources
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Git, Jenkins, Maven, Agile/Scrum, versioning and change management practices
Security & Data Governance:
Knowledge of data masking, encryption, compliance standards (GDPR, HIPAA, etc.), and data lineage
Experience Requirements
5+ years of proven experience developing and maintaining ETL workflows with Talend in enterprise data environments
Demonstrated experience with data warehousing, data migration projects, and data quality management
Prior involvement in implementing data governance policies and industry compliance practices
Experience working closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and QA teams in Agile environments
Industry experience in finance, healthcare, retail, or large enterprise sectors preferred; equivalent experience in other regulated sectors acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and maintain ETL processes supporting data warehousing, analytics, and reporting needs
Troubleshoot and resolve data flow and performance issues, ensuring minimal system downtime
Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and IT teams to understand and refine data requirements
Document data workflows, process diagrams, and technical specifications for compliance and audit readiness
Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and review sessions to optimize workflows
Support data migration, data cleansing, and validation initiatives for ongoing projects
Implement automation for routine tasks to improve workflow efficiency and system reliability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in ETL development using Talend in large-scale enterprise data environments
Certifications in Talend Data Integration or Data Management are advantageous
Strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL best practices
Proven ability to troubleshoot, optimize, and support complex data workflows
Excellent communication skills to work effectively with diverse technical and business stakeholders
