POSITION OVERVIEW
Systems Test Engineer I is responsible for the testing and validation of Gentex systems and applications. They will execute test plans, identify defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that Gentex products meet functional and performance requirements.
Location: This position requires on-site work at Gentex facilities. This role is not eligible for remote work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implement and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for system-level testing.
- Execute manual and automated tests to validate system functionality, performance, and reliability.
- Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate tools, ensuring timely resolution.
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and product managers to understand requirements and provide feedback on design and functionality.
- Conduct regression testing and verify bug fixes to ensure product stability.
- Analyze test results and generate detailed reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
- Stay current with industry best practices in testing methodologies and tools.
- Maintaining a high level of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality with respect to company matters.
- Complying with all Company policies and procedures, safety regulations, company safety policies and safely perform all duties, including but not limited to, promoting a safe workplace.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in systems testing or software quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
- Experience in Python scripting.
- Full professional written and verbal proficiency in English.
- Ability to travel to the United States.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality.
- Experience testing embedded and mobile systems.
- Experience creating automated hardware and software tests.
- Experience with Arduino, Raspberry pi and IBM DOORS.
Compensation and Benefits
- Gentex offers a competitive total rewards package including base salary determined based on the role, experience, skill set, and location. We also offer a range of benefits and programs to meet our employee needs, based on eligibility. Additional details about total compensation and benefits will be provided during the hiring process.
- This role offers a salary range of $55,200 CAD to $82,800 CAD, depending on candidate experience, education, and skill set.
