Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 to support the Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI) program, as part of the Systems Engineering core team.
This position is 100% on site in Chandler, AZ.
Job Summary and Responsibilities:
Responsible for “Cradle to Grave” oversight and ownership on Component Level Specification, Interfaces, and Corresponding Analysis
Develops product level requirements for a component specification based on CONOPS, constraints, and higher level specification flowdown
Provides Input to Systems Engineering Technical Reviews as Required by IPT Leads
Owns and Presents Systems Engineering Content at Systems Engineering Technical Reviews (T03 and Above)
Performs Requirements Gap Analysis, TBD/TBR Burndown Analysis
Coordinates with other disciplines as required to define requirements rationale
Example Areas of Ownership:
Propulsion (Solid Rocket Motors, Ordnance)
Avionics (Computer Devices, Radios, Interface Controllers)
Controls (Gas Based Controls, ACS, Control Surface Actuators)
Non-Tactical Equipment (Telemetry, AFSS, Encoders, Destruct Assembly)
Aerostructures (Casings, Airframes, etc)
Basic Qualifications:
Requires BS in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years related experience or Masters Degree with 3 years of related experience
U.S. Citizenship is required
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Active US DoD Secret security clearance, or higher.
Familiarity with the MDA organization and its methods of technical execution and review
Experience with multiple types of launch platforms
Experience with hypersonic weapons, and command and control technology
Experience with AEGIS weapon system
Willingness to work fast paced development programs
Ability to travel is required
Experience leading within and IPT organization as a lead or a SME

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
