As an Industrial Placement Systems Engineer, you’ll join our Integrated Systems team, contributing to the design and development of Platform Management Systems (PMS) for the UK’s fleet of nuclear-powered submarines. You’ll be part of a multi-disciplined project team, supported by a dedicated mentor, buddy, project lead, and line manager throughout your 12-month placement.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support Systems Engineering activities across the full lifecycle – from requirements to acceptance.
  • Assist in delivering project SE outputs and continuous process improvements.
  • Monitor task progress and report against agreed budgets and schedules.
  • Apply approved plans, processes, and procedures to SE activities.
  • Contribute to project reviews including design, risk, and change impact assessments.
  • Support issue management and ensure compliance with safety and security regulations.

  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Knowledge of verification methods and control systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel).
