29 May 2026We’re one of the world’s oldest start-ups — and we’re just getting started.
At Husqvarna Group, innovation is in our DNA. With over 330 years of heritage and a passion for pioneering technology, we design and deliver world class products and solutions for forest, park, garden and construction care. From robotic lawn mowers to cutting-edge chainsaws and sustainable battery systems, we’re shaping the future — and we want you to be part of it.
Systems Engineer – Handheld BEP R&D
You will join the Systems Engineering team, responsible for system architecture and requirements for our current and future battery handheld products. The team consists of nine experienced system engineers. The highly specialized products you will work on are complex systems combining software, electronics, and mechanics. Examples of handheld products we develop include chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, and accessories, all of them battery powered.
About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will play a central role in cross-functional projects, often collaborating with all disciplines within the development organization.
You will be responsible for overall requirements, system architecture, and ensuring system integrity throughout the project. Typical challenges include determining how different functions should be implemented to achieve the best product performance possible for our customers at the right cost. You will also manage system documentation for internal and external stakeholders and work continuously on safety & cyber security aspects together with certification bodies.
We spend time in the field testing our products to gain hands-on experience and better understand their performance. Together, you will define product requirements based on technical possibilities. You will tackle questions such as: How should a battery and tool communicate to gain the best performance? How should the tool connect to the cloud? How should we tackle cyber security? What functional safety mechanisms are needed?
Your Profile
You will play a key role in the projects you work on, so we believe you are communicative, a good listener, open to different perspectives, and collaborative in your approach. In true engineering spirit, we document everything we do—and we expect you to be good at that too.
Qualifications:
Engineering background in electronics, mechatronics, software, or mechanics.
Relevant experience in similar roles.
Knowledge within cyber security for embedded & It systems is beneficial.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Knowledge in Swedish is a plus.
