The ideal candidate is a motivated early-career engineer with a strong interest in avionics systems and a passion for problem-solving. You bring foundational knowledge of system design, networking, and embedded technologies, along with curiosity to learn complex architectures. Familiarity with scripting, cloud concepts, and avionics protocols is a plus, but a willingness to learn and adapt is essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of complex avionics systems to support technical tasks throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Assist in developing system requirements and defining interfaces with external systems.
  • Prepare and execute requirement validation test plans.
  • Develop and perform system-level test procedures to verify hardware and software functionality.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of automated test procedures.
  • Generate requirements traceability, compliance, and verification matrices.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot avionics protocols to refine lower-level design characteristics.
  • Support the development of test equipment for simulating onboard avionics.
  • Collaborate with design engineers on trade studies and participate in design reviews.
  • Assist in transitioning hardware and software from development to production and support entry into service and OEM/customer field issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and act as a liaison between customers and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Author and maintain technical and process documentation.

Qualifications                                                    

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or other technical field and 0-2 years of related experience (can include internships, coursework or projects).                            
  • Basic understanding of embedded system architecture principles, including integration of hardware, software, and communication interfaces.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts relevant to embedded systems, including design and troubleshooting of data buses and IP-based networks.
  • Introductory knowledge of system design and development processes, including requirements analysis and verification.
  • Awareness of cloud-based solutions and their role in data exchange (e.g., AWS or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of system-level testing, analysis, and troubleshooting for components and integrated platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of embedded systems and Linux environments.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) for automation and test support is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees)

  

Salary Range:

$58,100.00-$77,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
