Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Systems Engineer Architect Level 2 OR a Principal Systems Engineer Architect 3 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL OR Oklahoma City, OK.
This position will support the maturation of thread capabilities for a manned aircraft mission. The System Architect will work as a Thread Lead to mature the capabilities through functional analysis and Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes to deliver just-in-time design and optimize the development schedule for incremental capability development and early integration. This individual will collaborate with several stakeholders (subsystem developers, system integrators, system testers, system requirements engineers) to support delivery of quality design products, lead Thread Capability detailed planning (and define acceptance criteria), and manage tracking of the development schedule. This individual will also support development of thread integration plans and procedures and maintain technical cognizance of subsystem interdependencies and maturity of ICD’s for identifying and resolving gaps. This individual will incorporate cross-IPT feedback to support the development and Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) approval of the following products:
•Models of interface input/output, including messages, fields and signals, between subsystems to provide specification of end-to-end system capabilities for developers
•Integration procedures
•Development schedules
•Models of software-to-hardware deployment and interface protocols
•Mapping between requirements and design
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 2 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 0 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 0 years of related professional/military experience
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
• Must have knowledge of developing model-based systems engineering products
• Must have knowledge of Atlassian Tool Suite
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 3 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 1 year of related professional/military experience
• Must have an active DoD Secret clearance or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment
• Must have experience with Atlassian Tool Suite
• Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products
Preferred Qualifications:
• BS, MS, PhD Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• Strong technical written and communication skills
• Demonstrated strong technical writing & interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate and present technical material to various stakeholders
• Experience with embedded software development
• Experience in integrating complex system across multiple domains
• Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
• Understanding of SAFe Principles and Implementation
Primary Level Salary Range: $75,100.00 - $147,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
