DoD Clearance: SecretCollins Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer, Agile Release Train Engineer with a passion for engineering and the desire to lead and to join the Tactical Communications team. The team is responsible for architecting, designing, and developing systems for real-time embedded navigation and timing solutions for military ground, airborne, and maritime applications.
The Agile Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a leadership position that reports to senior program leadership while remaining in the Systems and Software Engineering functional organization. This person is responsible for steering the various engineering teams on the program and driving continuous improvement in Scaled Agile practices for the combined systems/software/test Agile Release Trains. The RTE is the facilitator of program-level process, execution, metrics and tools as they pertain to Agile Product Development, recommending and implementing best practices as warranted by program execution situations. The RTE works directly with Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads, Agile roles such as Product Owners and Scrum Masters, and functional support personnel to lead day to day technical execution, establish program cadence, ensure value delivery, and drive continuous improvement. The RTE must have a strong understanding of scaling Lean and Agile frameworks in order to continuously maintain alignment of a large development program.
This position is intended to operate locally in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What You Will Do:
Maintain positive employee and team experiences by creating an environment that supports positive team health as well as providing guidance and management to ensure goals are met.
Assess and drive continuous improvement to the agility level of the program
Utilize agile software development methods, automation, and continuous integration.
Encourage team level and program level continuous integration and communities of practice around scaling Agile and Lean, and around Engineering and Quality Practices
Work with product management, Product Owners and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
Responsible for effective incremental Program Planning execution including ensuring planning readiness via fostering the preparation of Vision and work item backlogs
Aggregate the Team Program Increment objectives into Program Objectives and publish them for visibility and transparency
Serve as a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
Collaborate with Product Management, the System Architect, and Business Owners to achieve effective outcomes on the ART.
Aid in the broader Lean-Agile transformation by coaching leaders and teams across the organization.
You will help drive resolution for technical issues through problem-solving and coordination across impacted teams.

Assist with the economic decision-making by facilitating capability estimation by teams
Create retrospective improvement roadmaps by analyzing all activities and actions that have previously been performed and finding ways to improve each process.
Measure and track program performance execution and Capability completion tracking
Escalate and track program impediments
Facilitate dependency resolution and help manage early risk identification and remediation
Report status to Program management and release management
Help structure program teams for effective program execution which may include providing input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
Attend system demonstrations

Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
Experience leading a team through the full product development lifecycle - coordinating multiple disciplines coming together to create a full product.
Previous experience with Agile leadership, as well as planning and managing projects and/or people in the development of embedded products.
Experience developing in the Agile framework.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required .
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Familiarity with NSA requirements and working with the NSA on Type-1 certification.
Preferred applicants will currently hold a Secret (or above) security clearance, or have held one within the past two years.
Ability to work through tough situations in a healthy and collaborative way.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
