In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to design, configure, and maintain resilient solutions across our internal systems and platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, resolve bugs in existing features, and improve system workflows to ensure reliability and efficiency. As Lightspeed continues to grow, you will help design and implement enhancements that support the scalability and sustainability of our internal systems. You will also contribute to establishing best practices and improving how systems are configured and maintained. In addition, you will support a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and providing mentorship to more junior team members.

What you’ll be doing:

  • System Design & Enhancements: Identify gaps in systems and make appropriate adjustments to existing architecture and designs when necessary.
  • Resilient Solutions: Develop resilient and sustainable solutions from implementation to production, ensuring congruence between new and existing systems.
  • Operational Excellence: Use monitoring and appropriate tooling to diagnose production issues and assess performance degradation or improvements over time.
  • Risk Management: Understand and assess risk tradeoffs to select appropriate rollout strategies and consider the forward implications of introducing changes (e.g., rollback plans).
  • Collaborative Solutioning: Articulate solutions via clean, simple designs and well-written documentation while participating actively in the wider engineering community.
  • Peer Mentorship: Provide thoughtful, in-depth feedback on PR reviews and actionable mentorship for entry-level team members to help grow their technical capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for continuous improvements based on proficient knowledge of Lightspeed engineering principles and recommend them to leadership.

What you need to bring:

  • Years of Experience: 2–4 years of experience as a System Administrator or Configuration Specialist supporting Salesforce
  • Platform Mastery: Proficiency configuring and optimizing workflows such as Salesforce Flows to streamline operations and reduce manual processes.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of CRM systems, workflow automation, and core technical concepts, consistently applied when implementing and maintaining production configurations.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to independently diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system configuration issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • System Integration: Experience integrating systems and validating data flows between platforms, with familiarity using tools such as Postman or Salesforce Workbench to interact with REST APIs considered an asset.
  • Best Practices: Proven ability to follow and promote technical standards, ensuring configurations, workflows, and integrations are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
  • Communication: Ability to clearly document and communicate technical solutions through structured documentation, workflow diagrams, and simple design patterns for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities to improve system configurations, workflows, and operational processes.
  • Feedback Culture: Contributes to a collaborative environment by providing constructive feedback and remaining open to input that improves team performance and outcomes.
  • Analytical Thinking: Uses data and system performance insights to evaluate workflows, identify inefficiencies, and inform data-driven decisions.
  • Engineering Principles: Consistently applies Lightspeed’s engineering principles and contributes to improving system reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
