The Role and Impact: As a Systems and Hardware Enabling Engineer (Silicon Firmware Dev Engineer), you will have the opportunity to influence Intel's next-generation client platforms by enabling cutting-edge hardware solutions. In this role, you will design and develop firmware that interfaces directly with hardware components-such as microcode, FPGA, and IP-specific firmware-while ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. By abstracting low-level hardware details and ensuring seamless integration between hardware and software, your work will directly impact Intel's ability to bring innovative, high-quality products to the market. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will play a critical role in shaping Intel's technological advancements and contributing to its mission of delivering industry-leading products. Key Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and maintain firmware solutions that interface directly with hardware. - Create abstractions of low-level hardware details for integration with higher-level software and firmware. - Conduct design and code reviews, ensuring quality, security, and functionality standards are met. - Test and validate product implementations to align with system requirements and optimize performance. - Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to address technical challenges and enhance firmware functionality. - Apply disciplined execution and secure development lifecycle practices to firmware projects. - Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technology innovation efforts within Intel's ecosystem.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's or BS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related specialized field. - 5+ years of experience in C programming. - 5+ years of experience developing UEFI firmware and/or BIOS. - 5+ years of experience with client/server architecture. - Proficiency in firmware algorithm design and secure code development using C programming. - Strong understanding of computer architecture fundamentals and hardware design concepts. - Experience conducting code reviews and applying disciplined software development methodologies. Preferred Qualifications: - Problem-solving skills with a track record of collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams. - Strong communication skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders. - Familiarity with end-to-end firmware lifecycle processes, including testing and validation. - Passion for innovation and teamwork, reflecting Intel's core values and mission. The Software Team drives customer value by enabling differentiated experiences through leadership AI technologies and foundational software stacks, products, and services. The group is responsible for developing the holistic strategy for client and data center software in collaboration with OSVs, ISVs, developers, partners and OEMs. The group delivers specialized NPU IP to enable the AI PC and GPU IP to support all of Intel's market segments. The group also has HW and SW engineering experts responsible for delivering IP, SOCs, runtimes, and platforms to support the CPU and GPU/accelerator roadmap, inclusive of integrated and discrete graphics.
