Job Description

As a Systems Analyst with OMES you will enjoy:

Job Details

  • Full-time 40-hour work weeks.

  • Support the Information Services Division.

  • Salary is up to $80,000 based on education and experience.

  • This is an on-site position located in Oklahoma City, OK

Position Summary

This position is responsible for implementing computer system requirements by defining and analyzing new and existing systems, developing standardized tests, and creating structured, cost efficient solutions. The Systems Analyst interacts with both internal staff and external clients on projects and enhancements. They also deliver training and education on systems to both technical and nontechnical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Works with assigned staff in the development of new applications, databases or system operations.

  • Troubleshoots system problems by reviewing output, project reports, service requests, and other documentation.

  • Evaluates system performance and operation, requirements for new applications, and other requirements.

  • Confers with stakeholders to identify problems by evaluating procedures and processes.

  • Develops solutions by preparing and evaluating alternative workflows.

  • Validates results by testing programs or processes.

  • Trains client personnel and provides system support.

  • Provides written documentation according to OMES design methodologies.

  • Consults with users to identify data processing requirements.

  • Makes recommendations on the purchase of new equipment or software.

  • Reviews and evaluates technical literature and other information concerning changes in technology.

  • Participates in long-range planning to evaluate costs, availability, alternatives and other factors.

  • Participates in architecture and software development activities.

  • Develops and executes manual and automated test plans for new and existing features.

  • Identifies defects and verifies fixes for production support issues.

  • Documents defects with clear and concise reproduction information.

  • Proactively contributes ideas for new features and identifying areas for improvement.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday. The noise level in the work environment is usually mild. Occasional travel may be required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business or related discipline and 1 year of experience in analytics or an IT-related field or five years of experience in analytics or IT related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience for each year of required education.
