What you'll do

  • You will report to the Mgr.: Systems Administration
  • Provide L1/L2 application and platform support across SWM toolsets including BMC Helix, Azure DevOps, and Atlassian Confluence
  • Support incident, change, and work order lifecycle activities including validation, triage, and basic configuration tasks
  • Perform routine system checks such as health checks, login/access validation, and patch/upgrade validation on enterprise Windows-based applications
  • Follow structured troubleshooting approaches using logs, runbooks, and documentation to reproduce and resolve issues
  • Assist with documentation, SOP updates, and knowledge article creation to improve team reusability and knowledge sharing
  • Support basic SQL-related validation, queries, and database checks where required
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies & ticket-driven work management processes

  • South African Citizen
  • COMPLETED three-year degree/diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Service management basics: Understanding of incident / change / work order lifecycle and how ticketing tools are used in IT support (ITIL awareness).
  • Tool aptitude: Ability and willingness to learn the SWM toolset – BMC Helix modules, Azure DevOps, Confluence – for L1/L2 support, validation, and basic configuration.
  • Basic SQL and database concepts knowledge

You will be part of the 2026 Graduate Program, which will run for 12 months

You will be based in the Centurion or Cape Town offices
 

Technical foundation:

  • Comfort with Windows-based enterprise applications, monitoring, and routine checks (health check, patch/upgrade validation, login/access validation).
  • Analytical & troubleshooting skills: Structured approach to reproducing issues, checking logs/screens, following runbooks, and documenting findings.
  • Communication & documentation: Clear written and verbal communication; ability to update SOPs / knowledge articles / ticket notes so others can reuse the solution.

  • Eagerness to learn SWM applications (Helix, ADO, Atlassian)
    • BMC Helix tools – incident/change handling, service catalogue forms, approvals.
    • Azure DevOps – boards, queries, basic admin (teams, area/iteration paths, permissions).
    • Atlassian Confluence – project/issue navigation, workflows, basic admin concepts.

Preferred

  • Hands-on exposure (internship / projects / lab) to any of:
  • Basic scripting / automation in any one of: Python, PowerShell, Java, C/C++, or SQL – especially for small utilities, reporting, or integrations.
  • Familiarity with integration or automation tools (e.g., Jitterbit, REST APIs, webhooks).
  • Exposure to Chatbots / AI
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum teams or with ticket-driven work management (standups, sprint boards, story points, etc.).
