About the Team & Role

As a Systems Administrator II, you will play a key role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of FIS systems infrastructure. This role focuses on day‑to‑day systems administration, incident investigation and resolution, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across platforms. You will work closely with infrastructure, application, and security teams to ensure reliable and secure system operations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assist in incident response activities, including issue triage, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action implementation.
  • Monitor systems performance, availability, and reliability, identifying trends and proactively addressing potential issues.
  • Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, software applications, patches, and updates across server and infrastructure environments.
  • Execute standard systems administration tasks including system builds, upgrades, configuration changes, and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with security teams to implement and maintain system security controls, access management, and compliance requirements.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, and recovery procedures in line with established standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve issues and support infrastructure‑related initiatives.
  • Follow established change, incident, and problem management processes.

What You Bring

  • Hands‑on experience in systems administration within enterprise environments.
  • Working knowledge of server operating systems (Linux and/or Windows), system utilities, and infrastructure services.
  • Experience supporting incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis in production environments.
  • Familiarity with patch management, system upgrades, and configuration best practices.
  • Basic understanding of infrastructure security principles, access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Exposure to automation and scripting tools.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms.
  • Experience working within ITIL‑aligned incident and change management processes.
