The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a system administrator who specializes in Windows or UNIX operating systems with a background in troubleshooting hardware and system issues to help us support mission planning systems used by our team who plan operations globally.

As a system administrator on our team, you’ll ensure the current infrastructure is functional and available, constantly look for ways to make the infrastructure better using the latest technology and the best implementation strategies, and update and patch critical systems. You’ll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your knowledge will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Your communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and articulate their meaning.

You Have:

  • Experience as a Windows or UNIX System Administrator
  • Knowledge of computing infrastructures
  • Knowledge of hardware or software troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Windows and UNIX operating systems
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • HS diploma or GED
  • DoD 8570.01-M Certification such as Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC Certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with scripting, programming, and coding
  • Experience with Java or .Net programming, and High-Performance Computing (HPC)
  • Experience in project leadership, management, or project management in an IT environment
  • Experience with license managers in a Windows or UNIX environment
  • Knowledge of fundamental networking or distributed computing environment concepts
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Exchange, Lync, and Symantec NetBackup, and Backup Exec
  • Bachelor’s degree in a CS field
  • DoD 8570.01-M CISSP Certification
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate- Server 2008 or higher Certification
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Server Administrator (MCITP SA) 2008 or higher Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $61,900.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
